LCD TV Rating

For those who watch sports on an LCD TV, is there REALLY a noticeable difference using a 60HZ refresh rate?

Would you have bought an LCD with a 120HZ refresh rate AFTER WATCHING YOUR SPORTING EVENTS ON YOUR 60hz? Is it the salesman just trying to sell me something more expensive? I want to buy a 46" Sony LCD (mine old TV just died) on time for the 2010 World Cup. Thanks for your input.

1. i have a 40 inch with 100 hz refresh rate it does make quite a difference to standard 60hz refresh rate a lot of people have remarked on the difference
