  1. LCD = liquid crystal display LED = light emitting diode Check them out in the store and see which one, if either looks better than the other to YOUR eye. That is the one you want.
  2. LED is the latest one and you can get much more clarity in it lcd is also gud but the image is not tat much clear as in led so better prefernce of me would be led
  3. The LED backlight creates a contrast ratio 1000 times that of the lcd which makes an amazing picture. You will pay for it though so if your looking to save money go LCD
  4. LCD - Originally used small fluorescent tubes as back light source for a TFT panel. LED - LEDs replace fluorescent tubes as the back light source. Can also mean directly driven LEDs are the picture elements = NO back lights.
  5. Don't take this wrong but if you haven't already done the research and are not familiar with the difference then it really isn't that important to you. You will pay more for the LED TV's. It's imortant that you know that LED TV's are LCD tv's. The LCD (liquid crystal display) panels light source is supplemented by LED (light emitting diode) elements. LED's are super bright and allow for a thinner TV and in some models provide for a brighter image. I am an audiovisualphile therefore I will not settle for anything less than the ultimate in image quality, and I pay out the butt for it. Many people do not care that much especially when they look at the price tag. There are some gorgeous 120Hz LCD TV's out there that will more than satisfy your needs and your wallet. If you decide you want to step it up, CNET.com is a good place to start with your research.
  6. It's quite simple. The two types are identical except for one difference. The picture on both is formed by liquid crystals, like a digital watch. On older or less expensive sets, the picture is illuminated by a fluorescent lamp system, called backlight. On the new sets, the backlight is a bank of light emitting diodes (LEDs). The LED backlighting won't burn out like a fluorescent lamp, and there are some additional technical advantages. That's really all there is to it.
