- Too long to go into. http://www.technologybasics.co.uk/difference-between-lcd-and-plasma-tvs.html I have both, a large 42" Plasma in the living room and a small LCd in the bedroom.
- To the average TV watcher, the differences will be hard to notice. LCDs are cheap and come in small sizes. Plasmas are coming down in price but still only come in big sizes. Plasmas handle fast motion really well with little blur but LCDs need special image processors running at 120Hz to match the speed of the Plasmas. Again, you won't really notice if you are a casual watcher but your eyes will thank you! I bought a 46" Samsung Series 7 LCD and I love it!
- lcd better as plasma tvs if let on the same screen for too long to screen sets like that and is difficult to sort it out
- http://search.yahoo.com/search?p=plasma+vs+lcd+tv&fr=ush-ans I think plasma is the old. The salesman at the store would be happy to explain it to you.
- Plasma uses more energy. Cost more to purchase. LCD use less energy and are cheaper to purchase. There used to be a big difference in picture quality. In recent years the gap has narrowed considerably and may even have closed. Plasma used to win in the black dept but improvements in how LCD handles blacks with the introduction for example of Sony's revolutionary Bravia range.
- Go for a plasma - 63% of the population prefer them to LCDs.
- The main differences are better contrast ratio and colour on plasma. LCDs are better for smaller sizes 37" or less. As for which one to go for, this depends on your viewing needs. Email this site: http://plasmaorlcd.co.uk they can give free advice on an individual basis about what tv is best for you. Personally (and this is a very rough summary) if you are serious about watching good picture quality, high definition programmes then go for a plasma everytime. Also have a look at http://www.50plasma.co.uk the tvs mentioned here are expensive for most people but I like to peruse the best tvs out there, hoping one day being able to get one myself.
