  2. i went to both best buy and american and looked at the tvs side by side. I saw the best picture on the lg, which is what i bought. I have a 42" and have had it for over a year, and havent had any problems with it at all. I personally just went and checked out the difference in picture quality there in the stores. I do not know anything personally about sony or panasonic, all i know is what i bought and that i am more than happy with what i got. best suggestion for you is to go into a store and check out the differences live, then if you want to purchase online go back home and purchase, but by looking at the simulated pics online you cant really tell the difference till you are standing right there.
  3. Based purely on brand name along, Panasonic and Sony are just ever so slightly superior to LG. But you can't put to much weight on brand name alone. All manufacturers have stronger and weaker models. You need to do comparisons at the model level. LG has some really great models for sure. Their LH90 or forthcoming SL90 lines get great reviews. The definitely appear to offer some of the best picture out there. In lower lines, the LH50 - LH70 I think hold up quite strongly against the competition as well. Their LH20 - LH40 lines are very good, but I'm not sure I'd call great. Sony is Sony. You will get great quality from. More times than not you will get great reliability from them (but they aren't perfect and some people have had bad luck with them). You will also often pay a bit more for them. You pay a bit for the Sony name. But on the flip of that, I know lots of Sony electronics owners that hold onto their stuff for a really long time. I think their W, Z, and XBR lines are their better choices right now. Panasonic is really one of the best options in quality right now. Their Plasmas are definitely like the "it" consumer TV currently. I'm not sure you can really do much better, especially at their prices. Their LCDs even are really great (but only available in smaller sizes). I prefer their blacks and colors on their LCDs to other rival brands for sure. As for reliability, I'd call them one of the safest bets right now. They are built well and built to last. As for their models, the G and V series are their flagship lines, and if you can afford those I'd get those. The S series also delivers very strong quality and is a bit easier on the budget. If you're going with a smaller LCD then the X1 series may be all you should get, but it depends on the size and needs.
  4. Well panasonic is more specialized in plasma technology and LCD I bought a LG because LG's are known to have some of the fastest response times for a LCD, I chose a LG over a samsung because the samsung was 120hz and 6ms response times, and the LG was a 120hz and 2.4 ms response time for the same price, So I would say LG.
