what is the maximum size of LCD TV that I may install in a 10' X 10' area as a part of home theatre?
Wall to wall distance in the direction I want to install the TV is 10'. The area is a part of 18' X 10' semi open lobby, as one side is open to staircase. Please also suggest suitable amp rating for such an area.

- Recommended size varies with seating distance (and also with personal taste). See the information and calculator at the 1st link. Depending on which standard/recommendation you want to follow you could fit a screen as large as about 80" into that space. The second link discusses the impact of resolution on seating distance. Amp rating would depend on speaker efficiency, but a 100 watt/channel surround amp should do (I have a 140 watt/channel A/V receiver in my 22x20x10 home theater and it's quite adequate. Subwoofers are separately powered ... there you will want at least a couple hundred watts.
- According to experts, they recommend 3 foot minimum viewing or sitting distance for every 12 inches of screen. Which is the same that you have to calculate that depending of the distance where the closer person `s gonna be from the Tv. If you get a 46 screen you should not be closer than 12 foot from screen minimum. Do you like to seat in the first row in the movie theater? 90 watts is more than enough.
