LCD TV Rating

Is a $2000 1080p Samsung LCD TV likely ti have any dead pixels???

I recently purchased an off brand LCD TV and I immediately noticed some dead pixels. I have decided to return the first one and upgrade to a better brand. I am able to get a Samsung on the internet for about $500 less than in the store. I am afraid though that an online return will be a pain if there are any problems. What are the odds of a high end Samsung TV having any dead pixels. I don't want to invest a lot of money and then feel bad about something. NOTE: I am not looking for someone to come in here and recommend another brand because they are a fan of a particular company. Please honest, expert opinions please. THANKS!!!

  1. The pixels can burn out .. the guy at best buy was showing me that they can burn out and some were on the wall displays... I would say you would be better off buying a brand name. Samsung seems to be one of the leaders in the LCD displays.. i see them everywhere... there prices and quality seem to also be the best.
  2. samsung are the best i think is more better than sony in lcd and online returns are easy and also you can print the page online and you can find any local store carry that one u can get it price match
  3. Well, SINCE you force us to like your choice..... These TVs are shipped the SAME WAY as the Big box stores get them...by truck Your chances of getting dead pixels are the same too... But you are stepping up in quality.....A known brand name is always a better purchase than an unknown brand, because you'll be able to repair it. I would suggest an "extended warranty" be the deciding factor as you want a reasonably priced warranty that covers everything.
  4. Ok, so, I have this TV, a 1080P Samsung 42" HDTV. It is GREAT! We got it off the internet also, and it look awesome. The HD is fantasic! Trust me, this TV is the best LCD out there (I did ALOT of research before I bought this TV) This TV is one of the very few TV's that has true High Def. I highly dout you are going to have dead pixels. We did have any on ours. I recomend having the TV shipped on FedEx. They handle things great, and the TV came fast. This TV has alot of great features on it. It has the gaming mode, if you are going to play games on it (And it looks great too. We hooked our PS3 up to it and we were blown away by the picture). It also takes about 5-6 ours for ghosting to occure. The picture makes you feel like you are actually there. I have gone to the store and compared this TV with other TV's at the Circut City, and this one by far had the best picture. You will not be dissapointed with this TV. I highly recomend that if you are getting this TV, that you have high deff. TV channels. Well, I hope I helped, and enjoy!
