LCD TV Rating

How can I get my samsung LE40a656 LCD TV to connect to my PS3 at 1080p via HDMI?

I have a samsung le40a656 lcd tv. I've connected a ps3 to the tv via hdmi, but the maximum resolution I can get is 1080i (using the PS3 display settings) What am i doing wrong? This TV is definitely 1080p input?

1. 1080i is better then 1080p
2. I don't believe you would be able to tell the difference between the 1080i and the 1080p on your LCD TV.
3. Yes, the TV does support 1080p. My guess is your HDMI cable is Category 1 type. You need a Category 2 cable to support 1080p. Category 2 HDMI cables are also called High Speed HDMI cables.
