Why does my Samsung LCD tv have a shadow?

I've had the tv for about 3 years and for a while now it looks like there is a faint black mark on the the right side of the screen. It sort of looks like a shadow. But it's super annoying and I was just wondering if there is some way to fix it or if we have to buy a new tv.

1. im guessing that the pixels are burning out, it happens with computer monitors too, if you use it too much they eventually burn out, or you just have a faulty tv you would have to buy a new screen or parts to fix it, or a new tv
