Is there any way of connecting a Playstation 2 to a Samsung LCD TV via HDMI?

And if so, would the picture quality increase? Also can you suggest the best way to connect a playstation 2 to a LCD tv giving the best picture possible!

1. Nope, because the PS2 does not support HDMI or hi-definition graphics. It's impossible to increase the graphics anyhow, if the device does not support HD output, then the quality is the best it will ever get, just because I plug my PS2 into my HDTV, does not mean the graphics will improove, as the PS2 can only support 400,000 pixels as opposed to the HD's: 1,100,000.
2. About the best you can do with the PS2 is 480p (enhanced defenition) via a component cable (red, green ,blue) and at the same time the game itself must support 480p, God of war 2 for example. You will get a pretty good picture this way.
