PS3 connection to Samsung lcd tv via HDMI cable?

We have a ps3 connected to a samsung lcd tv via a HDMI cable. The sound settings are to HD but the sound keeps going off and on. Any ideas? Tried that Jaguar but the ps3 has to be on for the hdmi connection to be highlighted? Maybe it's a dodgy cable? Are HDMI cables that sensitive? Still playing up! Changed HDMI and it works on our Sony HD tv, Playstation3 ok so TV must be the problem. Spoke to Samsung and they werent sure so I'll pop into a local Samsung repair centre to ask if they knew what it could be. Tv suppports 1080i nd HD sp I dont know what it is? Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr

  1. * Turn on TV and set input to HDMI port being used. * Make sure PS3 is connected via HDMI. * Power on PS3 via power button and HOLD IT for 5 seconds (release after the second beep). It should automatically configure your PS3 to the TV's native resolution for all settings.
  2. I have my PS3 connected to a Samsung LCD HDTV as well and I don't have any sound issues while using HDMI. Make sure that the PS3 is set up to recieve sound from the HDMI cable and video from the HDMI cable. If you are still having problems after making sure the HDMI cable is setup to output both sound and video, it could be the T.V. or it could be the cable. My guess is that it's the cable.
  3. It could be that you have the settings set too high for the TV. Go to sound options and set them to the lowest (Stereo 44.1kHz) your TV should be able to play this.
  4. I got a free Playstation 3 from this site, I highly recommend it!
  5. You are not the only one who has this problem. There has been similar cases in the past The first thing you have to do is call Samsung tech center. They will most likely have you update the firmware. If this does not work, they'll have to replace the main board. I know it sucks but at least Samsung is very good at resolving technical problems. Here is their number: 1-888-987-HELP(4357) , Digital TVs: Mon - Sun: 9am - Midnight (EST). Good luck.
