Recording TV programs using Dell Desktop on a Samsung LCD TV?

I have a Samsung LCD TV and a Dell Desktop How do I record Digital TV programs on to my hard disk? What do I need to achieve this? Can anyone add specific things I need for both the TV and the desktop. As the LCD TV has built in freeview and several HDMI ports. I am really confused. I dont need the tv tuner or anything? Which software can i use thats free?

1. You're going to need to connect an HDMI cable then start recording. Then you need to get some programs. Simple.
2. You'll need a TV tuner card (internal or USB). You'll be able to record OTA digital TV, or from a SAT or Cable box, but only in SD. Update If your computer does not have a TV tuner (most don't), you'll have to add one. If you're interested in doing so (about $100), email me at jjki_11738 and I'll try to help you.
