Is there a big difference between 60hz and 120hz refresh rate for lcd televisions?
i am looking at buying a new lcd tv, and need to know how big of a role the refresh rate plays in watching the following programs: sports, csi, and reality shows. other specs on the tv are as follows: Samsung 46" 500,000:1 dynamic contrast 8ms response time 178 degree viewing angle 550 cd/m2 16:9 wide screen aspect ratio

- The higher refresh rate will help reduce the blurring of fast motion and any apparent flicker on high brightness scenes The refresh rate is the number of times the scene is reproduced on the screen in one second. 120 Hz is better. The larger the screen the more noticeable the differences will be.
- since you will be watching sports, i would go with the 120hz, if you were to buy the 60hz, when you are watching sports there will be some artifacts left on the TV(will appear for 2 seconds max.) (no permanent damage)......120hz means its a VERY GOOD refresh ratio
- Sets with 120Hz refresh rates help keep the motion artifacts to a minimum. Meaning you will get less motion blur during your sports programs and action packed movies and shows. And it's usually more beneficial if you get a larger screen HDTV.
