LCD TV Rating

LCD TV and Plasma?

Im about to purchase a LCD TV the new sony top rated KDL40W2000U - now i have a few questions: in the uk how many pixels or lines do i need to watch HD? whats it likely to be in the future? will it have the capabiltiy to handle higher screen res? Is HD gonna get more higher resolutions? if so how many lines would the new tvs need? what does blue ray need for it to work on ones tv? what about HD- DVD will that be visible in its true clarity on these tvs?

  1. basiccaly the new hd will need the labeled hd ready tv's and yes it will be able to handle far higher resolutions and the blue ray discs will need a hdtv
  2. And we all have crystal balls do we??? You will need a HD ready TV Who Knows Probably Probably - Who knows? You need Blue Ray DVD player - NO!
  3. I disagree a bit with what Dwayne says. Blu-Ray or HD-DVD will not REQUIRE an HD set, but will look best on one. Plus, these media will be able to output a signal in 1080p which is the higest resolution for HDTV and will be the standard for the forseeable future. Unfortunately, not all HDTVs are compatible with this resolution.
  4. plasma looks better! with hd ready panasonic 50" plasma hd ready digital beautiful
