Will any Sony LCD TV remote work with any Sony LCD TV? More specifically, what I need to know is, will this remote: http://cgi.ebay.in/Sony-LCD-TV-Remote-Model-No-RM-W-109-/270624169579?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_203 work with this TV: http://electronics.pricegrabber.co.uk/plasma-lcd-televisions/Sony-Bravia-Series-KDL-32W5500-32/m715519027.html . I lost my old remote, so thats why I'm asking.
Does anyone have problem with Sony LCD TV and Time Warner Cable? I recently bought a new Sony LCD Television (KDL46Z100) and I have Time Warner cable (which sucks!). I set up the code for the TV according to the remote manual. Everything worked fine until I turned the cable box off. When I turned it back on, the remote does not work (until 15-20 mins. later). It seems it takes the TV quite a while to pick up the signal from the remote. The sound went out occassionally for 5 sec. at various intervals. I called Sony and told them about the problem. They said its not the tv because my dvd player works fine and its the cable box/remote. I returned the box and remote to Time Warner this past weekend and got a different box and remote. I programmed the remote again and the same problem continues. The tv does not pick up the signal from the remote for like 15 or 20 mins. The sound problem went away but i'm still annoyed with the remote. any ideas what the problem could be? I even took the hdmi cable out and used the composite cables to see if it was a cable wire thing and still the tv delays on the signal. The only thing I can think of is the tv model is so new, the cable box is not familiar with such model? I don't know. Getting frustrated. I'm getting quite sick of the quality service of Time Warner (channel freezes, on demand does not work sometimes, etc.) I might switch to another provider like RCN. Anyways, getting off topic here. I would appreciate some insight on my question. Thanks. The original Sony remote works fine but i can't use it with my cable box, can I?
black friday sales on sony high-def. LCD tv??? i can't seem to find any sales/coupons on sony LCD televisions, especially the bravia versions, at 46 inches (KDL-V3000) . i am trying to look at best buy, but cannot find anything. are there any specials for black friday for the tv's??
Sony LCD TV life span? I have a 50" Sony LCD TV and the screen has the notorious green hue that's been plaguing Sony televisions for years. I'd like to know if the green hue will continue to get worse? And how long before the TV completely craps out? That does not even address my question.
What is the average life span of a Sony Bravia LCD television? I have a Panasonic rear-projection 60" tv which is about to die because of the lamp. I've had it replaced twice already, but I don't want to keep on paying and paying for labor which is $350. I plan on buying a Sony Bravia LCD tv, but my question is; how long will they last and are they good?
My Sony LCD TV just displays solid pink after a brief power interruption. Any ideas? I still get audio for every channel AND the TV displays menus and channel identifications, just not the actual video from the channels themselves. Furthermore, I’ve tested with another television and confirmed that this is not a cable line issue (everything works fine on the other TV). Anything you know will be very much appreciated! Oh, it’s a Sony MFM-HT205 if that helps.
New sony LCD tv automatically dims when a dark scene is shown? When a visually dark part of a movie is shown, the television dims, making it hard to see the scene. How can I fix this? The model number is KDL46v5100. Thanks! When I mean dims, I mean the backlight brightness decreases, as if less power were sent to the backlight.
sony 46" bravia HD lcd tv? i wanted to know is this sony tv thats on the link is worth buying and if its 1080i or 1080p? http://www.badcock.com/Badcock/Electronics/Televisions/PRD_93481/Sony+46+Bravia+HD+LCD+TV.jsp?bmUID=1216278567324

Here is what my choices are for LCD TVs, Sony 46" Class Bravia Full HD KDL-46S4100, Sharp 46" LC46SB54U, and Samsung 46'' LN46A500T. I've problem with my SONY LCD TV? I've bought a Sony bravia television 15 month ago. About 2 month ago some shadow appeared on the screen when I turn the TV on but they disappear after some minute. But now there is a big brown shadow on the screen and don't disappear. The screen become clear for some seconds when I move TV. What can I do? Is there any way to repair it except changing the screen?
I am buying an LCD TV. Should I go for Sony or Samsung? I am having a very hard time deciding between a Sony or Samsung flat panel LCD television , as I have heard good things about both of them. The models I am considering are both 40 inches, 1080p resolution, and 60hz Any opinions or personal experiences would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.
Sony LCD TV or Panasonic Viera? Any help appreciated? Hello all. Could someone please point me in the right direction.. im interested in purchasing a 32" lcd hdtv and i've narrowed it down to 2 of them. They are both 399.99 and are 32" my only problem is choosing which company is better because the tv's are nearly alike. The first is a panasonic vierra model number TC-L32C12 which has everything i want and a 10,000:1 ratio. The second tv is a Sony bravia 32" that has everything i like also with a ratio of 8,000:1 the model for that one is KDL32L504 BOTH tvs are 720p OKAY... here is where the question is lol. My first thoughts were Sony = BEST so i was naturally like okay i want the sony one. but after researching i've found that this particular model was on sale at all the stores for black friday... could it be possible that tv was made slightly cheaper or only for a limited time to sell for a cheaper price. Sony also sells another 32" tv with a ratio 13,000:1 with the EXACT same specs as the previous model listed. I was 100 decided on this sony until i found out its been discontinued. This is my first lcd tv purchase and im wanting a quality television that will last me a long time thats why im going with a big name but right now im realllllly leaning towards that panasonic viera due to all the wonderful reviews it's gotten. All that being said... SONY, or PANASONIC folks?? ive always trusted sony and i do trust panasonic also but theres something about that sony model that makes me question it. ANY INPUT APPRECIATED!! Thank you so much

Which lcd TV manufacturer should I buy and where to buy? I'm trying to decide whether to buy a samsung or sony lcd television. I will probably wait at least a couple of weeks to buy, or at least until I receive my tax refund. Based on reviews for a 26 inch lcd tv (since the tv will go in my bedroom) I have narrowed it down to those 2 manufacturers. Does anyone have any suggestions, even if it is not samsung or sony? Also, where should I buy the TV, a chain place like best buy/circuit city, or a local electronics place? Finally, should I go ahead and buy one within the next couple of weeks, or wait whenever TVs will go down in price? Thanks for answering.

But after the ubuntu bootscreen, monitor goes black saying "unsupported signal format. Adjust your PC output". Windows 7 works fine. Problem is only with ubuntu. Best LCD TV to buy for 500-900 Canadian Dollars? Im looking to replace my ancient 27'' Sony Trinitron with an LCD TV. My television will be at least 32'' and HD ready. I was thinking of getting the 32'' Sharp Aquous model. I also heard Panasonic and Samsung are good choices too. In terms of clarity and brightness, what televisions/brands/models should i look into getting in that price range? I will also use it for watching dvds/blue rays and ps2 and ps3. Any advice? Will pick for best and most detailed answer!
is 5.1 system on sony bravia lcd tv possible? hey there, i have a sony bravia kdl-40s2000 hd-ready television and i have a minton 5.1 home theater system without any minton dvd player attached, but i have a philips bdp7300 blueray player attached to it. my 5.1 works fine on philips blueray player, but i cannot get this 5.1 work on the television itself. is there any way that i can use this 5.1 system with my tv? like, is it possible to plug this 5.1 system to the television directly or indirectly (via blueray player)? besides that, i cannot get the mkv files work as hd quality videos on my television as they are seen on my pc. does anyone know the configuration for it? mkv problem is solved. it was because of a damaged hdmi cable. 5.1 is also solved, my tv just won't output 5.1 sound. thanks

26" lcd sony bravia tv help? My 26" LCD Sony Bravia TV has been having a few problems lately. Any help with any problem would helpful and appreciated. 1. The screen goes so dark that I can hardly see what's on it (usually when the majority of what's on the screen is dark) and then seconds later returns to its normal brightness. This doesn't happen too often but it's extremely frustrating when I'm playing a dark game or watching a dark movie. 2. When I pause my dvr about a minute later my television turns off. 3. This is probably the dvr but when I am fast forwarding a recorded show the screen freeze for up to a minute. Thank you!
Sony Televisions, which one to buy? I am looking at buying a Sony 40" LCD TV. Any suggestions on what to look for? I have not bought a new TV in years so I need help. Also, is Sony the best?
How do I connect my Sony Vaio to my Sony TV!? I am unable to successfully connect my PC to my TV. I have a Sony Vaio VGN-CR520D Laptop and a 40" HDTV 1080p LCD Sony Bravia Television. I bought a VGA (male to male) Cable and an S Video Cord, just what it tells me to have in the Sony Bravia TV Instructions Pamphlet!! I plugged everything in to where it is supposed to be! I've changed the input settings on my TV to "PC" How can I fix this problem? Notes: Using Windows Vista.
HDMI and Sony PS3/TV Help!? Ok everybody. Do I have a bum cable? I have my PS3 routed to my AV receiver with a Sony HDMI cable. It was the last Sony cable so i settled for a Piranha cable to go from the receiver to the Sony Bravia LCD television. Like its supposed to, the receiver will display Linear PCM when the audio is outputting LPCM. Now my TV would sometimes flash all black and the sound would cut out and the receiver would then again display Linear PCM as if the audio had changed. I swapped the cables so that the Piranha was now connected from the PS3 to the receiver and the Sony was in between the receiver and TV. This is where it gets fun. When setting the PS3s audio setting to automatically detect what types of audio the receiver could handle it only chose 5.1 Dolby Surround and 2 of the 2.1 Channels. When it was connected with the Sony cable, there was every setting rather than 3 that i could chose. And also everytime there was no sound, the receiver would display like it was connected to nothing, when there was sound it would quickly flash Linear PCM 2.1...... so in other words it was doing stuff it wasnt supposed to. Now, my question. Are Sony devices only compatible with Sony HDMI cables? Could that be why my TV was flashing? I only have 14 Days to exchange my TV if somethings wrong with it and it only flashes sometimes. Could the cable be causing this even though the audio part of it is messed up? I dont know how these cables are put together and all i know is its digital data being sent. Could the audio parts of it and the video parts of it directly interact with each other if one was damaged if they even do have audio/video parts to them? Sorry, my questions make better sense in my head, i have a hard time talking techno babble, but i do understand if told. I hope someone can help! thanks. Products being used: Sony 40" LCD - 40V4100 Sony 5.1 Home Theater System HT-SF2300 Sony Playstation 3 1x Sony PS3 HDMI Cable 1xPiranha HDMI Cable Also I would like to know If I hooked everything up as I was supposed to. Thank you. (Im almost positive I did) Just tried Syncing my Sony TV to the receiver for HDMI control using the Piranha Cable and that also doesnt work properly like it should, Im fairly convinced its the cable.

Is it normal for beams of light to be noticeable in the four corners of an LCD TV when first turned on? I have a 32" Sony Bravia LCD television (32S3000), which I bought as a refurb last month from Sony Style. When I first turn it on, I notice beams of light in all four corners but after about 30-40 minutes, they completely disappear. Is there supposed to be a warm-up period? This is not noticeable if I watch something in full-screen or zoom mode but I always watch in "normal" mode, which leaves the black banding on the sides. Thanks!
What are the best settings for a Sony Bravia 40 inch LCD 1080p 120htz TV? I recently bought a Sony Bravia 40 inch LCD 1080p 120htz television, and I gotta say that it looks amazing with all of the settings I have chose, but I just want to know if it could look better if I change certain things in the settings menu, or if I should turn off or lower some of them if I do not need them. I have HDMI for playing my PS3 and watching my Blu-Rays, and I have RGB for my Xbox 360. I would like only people who are gamers with at least a PS3 or Xbox 360(both would be awesome), who have this same TV, and who are pretty smart when it comes to electronics. People can share what settings are pretty good for them, even if they don't know that much about TVs, but it MUST BE FROM SOMEONE THAT HAS THE SAME TV AS MINE. I like other people giving their opinions, but only when it isn't redundant to what I'm talking about. Btw, if you don't have a 40 inch like me, that is fine. I only included the size in case there are certain settings only that size has available, or in case some things work differently on different sizes...I don't think it does, but I am not that great when it comes to TVs, so I threw it in there. Btw, sorry I put 120htz by accident. I meant to put 120Hz, but kept ending up trying to spell it out...I know, I'm stupid on that deal :P
What is the difference between these two Sony Bravia TV's? Sony 40 in. Class LCD Full HD (1080p) Television, BRAVIA® or Sony 40 in. Class LCD Integrated HDTV / Sony Bravia I don't play any video games and I don't watch much sports but I will have an HD cable box. Which is better for me? What is the difference anyway? KDL-40S4100 and KDL-40S3000
which tv should i buy... the 42 inch plasma Panasonic,42 inch plasma Hitatchi or the 46 inch LCD Sony? All of our electronics are Sony. I wantd a Sony television but the only one I liked was the 46 LCD Sony. I don't like projection though they do have the best picture. Our Final three options are the panasonic, Hitatchi or the Sony. The Panasonic and the Hitatchi are both 42 inch and they are also plasma...excellent picture. The Sony is larger (46 inch) and it's an LCD and about a thousand dollars more. I'm willing to pay more cuz it's larger and it's sony. Other than that I don't know whether the panasonic or the hitatchi will do...I'd appreciate any opinions
LCD Television picture quality, can anyone help? I have just bought a 40" Sony LCD TV (which was not cheap!) and the picture quality is not as good as you would expect. The edges of people seem quite fuzzy. It has built in Freeview so is digital, any ideas!?
why do LCD TV's look fuzzy when watching TV? and how can you stop it!? hi, i brought a 26" sony bravia lcd HD tv the other week from play.com and it was TERRIBLE when watching the tv / GBuilt in freeview. the picture was fuzzy and miss coloerd. WHY BOTHER?! even in top electronic shops the picture looks the saame. i have ALLWays thought it was either the quality of the TV or them not being fully tuned! Since buying this tv i have asked friends about there LCD'sand they say the same! Unless its in HD its HORRIBLE! I ended up sending the TV back as i wanted to use it to watch dvds and tv while enjoying the HD with my PS3! Are ALL lcd's like this? and if so is there ANY way of improving the picture quality while watching television? Is plasma any better while watching tv? Im guessing the reason for the poor quality of television is that LCD's HD tv run at a higher res than whats coming through the ariel??:( p.s what about dvds as well? the bravia tv looked hoprrible with normal dvd's too... does this mena in the near future as soon as chunky tvs are not being made any more that we will HAVE to upgrade dvds to blue rays??:( thats so bad if it is -_-
LCD TV, Desktop Problem, Help.? Sometimes when I turn on my desktop, the image does not appear on the screen, it says "out of range". This is on a Sony 32" LCD Television through a VGA cable. So I have to keep resetting until it actually shows the image on the screen. This is an annoying problem, Does anyone know what problem this is and any solutions to fix this?
I am buying an LCD TV. Should I go for Sony or Samsung? I am having a very hard time deciding between a Sony or Samsung flat panel LCD television , as I have heard good things about both of them. What should I look for when buying a new LCD TV? I'm looking at buying a new television within a price range of £350 and below. I have searched around various stores, but am a little confused. I have found what seems to be, a fantastic deal on a Sony 32" TV. However, I am always looking to see how high the contrast ratio is. Is this really what I should be looking for? i.e. is this what makes the picture quality better? If not, what should I be looking for?
New flat screen lcd tv, which is best, sony or sharp? Heya! Moving to a new house soon, and decided to buy a new television to celebrate, I want to buy a new LCD tv, around 32', was thinking about buying a sonia bravia, but I have heard about some bad technical issues with it, friend suggested a Sharp, but Im not a big fan, yet to gaint there trust as a consumer. Is it possible to get some money from my broken TV? I have a Sony 32" LCD TV (model number KDL-32S2000) that has a cracked screen. To repair it would cost upward of $1,000. I have another television that I am using at the moment but I would like to get some of the money from my old TV back. Would it be possible to sell it for parts? It works fine except for the broken screen. Thanks in advance for the answers.
Would this tv with game mode running be better than this tv running on it's own for ps3 gaming/surfing? Would this tv with game mode running http://www.johnlewis.com/Christmas/Televisions/Televisions/LCD+TV/1284/230418717/Product.aspx be better than this tv running http://www.johnlewis.com/Christmas/Televisions/Televisions/LCD+TV/1284/230445783/Product.aspx I guess I'm asking if the game mode in the samsung tv produces better graphics during ps3 gaming/surfing compared to the sony tv. Both would have HDMI cables hooked up.
My Sony DVD player remote controls my Westinghouse LCD TV making it nearly impossible to use - what to do? The remote on my Sony DVP-NS77H DVD Player uses the same remote signal code as my Westinghouse 32H240S television apparently. When I use the DVD remote to power up the DVD player, it turns the DVD player on and at the same time, turns the television off (or on if the TV was already off). Whenever I use any of the buttons on the remote of the DVD player, an annoying black screen pops up for a few seconds on the TV saying something to the effect, "Function Not Available". Is there any way to remedy this? Thanks in advance ;)
Would an LCD TV save me more energy than my HUGE BEASTLY Old TV? So in my room I have a HUGE MONSTER of a Television. Well not huge but it's a 36 inch old school Sony TV from 1998. Would switching to a flatscreen LCD save me more energy and use less watts? Because every time I turn this TV on it causes my light to dim for a quick second. The reason I want to save more energy is because I've had 2 power surges in my room (brand new house). I have tons of electronics in here like computer, PS3 etc. Also, I want to play my PS3 with HD quality.
Sony television info? On the new range of sony lcd televisions a lot of the model numbers end in a U i.e. KDL46V3000U. But some don't and are the same tv. Is there a difference or does the U not mean anything. 10 points for helping me out!
Sony KDL-37P3020 - 37'' Widescreen Bravia HD Ready LCD TV? Currently, I have this television. 1) Is it good enough to play Xbox 360 or PS3 games? 2) How would the games look on the television? 3) Would I need to connect any accessories such as cables to the TV from the console? 4) Can it play blu-ray? If so, how good would it look? URL - http://www.amazon.co.uk/Sony-KDL-37P3020... Thanks in advance. --Edit-- 4) Is it compatible with blu-ray (PS3)? If so, how good would it look? Cheers Zosh
How do I hook up basic cable to my LCD TV? I'm using the Sony Bravia KLV-32U100M LCD and it doesn't seem to have the basic port that regular televisions use. On this ' http://www.hdtvsolutions.com/Sony-Bravia_KLV-32U100M-dealers.htm ' site it says that I need a seperate cable or an off-air tuner. Could someone tell me what cable I need or what exactly an OFF-air tuner does. Thank You in advance
Comments On LG Televisions-LCD? I am seriously thinking of getting a LG LCD TV. Anyone out there got one-what do you think? Thanks I know that Sony and Panasonic etc are a better TV. But my money cannot afford one of these. Thanks again
I'm looking to buy a 26 in lcd tv for my bedroom. Anyone have any ideas? I have looked into Sony and Samsung (LNT-2642H and LNT-2653) and each seem to receive very comparable ratings. Should I go with one of these, or consider another brand? It seems that many televisions are on sale right now, so should I go ahead and buy or wait until another time of the year. I'm not in a hurry, but I'm ready for an upgrade when I find a good deal. Thanks for your help.
Leaving my HD-TV on overnight? I usually keep my television on over night (muted). I am just used to it being on. Now I have 26 Inch LCD HD-TV (Sony Bravia). I was wondering if leaving my television on overnight was a bad idea for LCD-HD televisions. Any insight would be appreciated

Best 26" or 27" LCD TV you can recommend me? I'm in the market now to buy a new TV after 20 years of use of my CRT television which is now showing signs of failure. I would like to get a TV (26" or 27" only please) that is the best quality that will last me a long time and price will not matter. I heard Sony's are good but I am open to other suggestions. Thanks in advance.
Are an existing optical output DTS Audio Receiver, upconverting DVD Player, and a 720 LCD TV Compatible? I currently have a Sony ST835 Receiver with DTS and an optical output, a Samsung HD-870 upconverting dvd player and I hope to purchase a budget 32" LCD TV with decent sound (many sets don't have it in my opinion). I am concerned about losing DTS capability (dvd player and receiver both have this) and that my older receiver doesn't have HDMI inputs (new tv and dvd player both do or will). Please make recommendations for budget minded person like me. What should be kept, combined or updated please? Please note: I do not have and I cannot afford cable television right now. I use rabbit ears on my existing CRT til February 2009 to get a signal. Thanks. Is it possible to use hdmi between tv and upconverting dvdplayer JUST for audio then? Any advantage to using HDMI, and if yes, would you buy a new receiver for the HDMI now? oops..I mean JUST for video NOT audio and then just use my existing optical for audio?
I am having problems with the volume on my TV in watching Blu-Ray DVDs...? I have to turn the television volume all the way up to the highest levels to hear conversation. It gets much louder during action scenes, but am wondering 1) why there is so much variation in volume 2) why the sound is so different than on television programs or non-Blu-ray DVDs...have a Samsung LCD TV and a Sony Blu-Ray DVD player...
