Will it hurt my Samsung 52" (LCD) TV to run 24/7 for 7-10 days? Above TV is only 2 years old. Just found out it has a faulty capacitor in it which, if I turn it off, the TV probably wont turn on again until it is repaired. Samsung says they warranty that part and will pay for repair but it will take them 1 to 1 1/2 weeks to get the part and fix it. In the mean time, my kids love their cartoons and movies, and the wife and I enjoy watching a show or two in the evenings.. What are the risks of not turning off for that period of time???? Any experts out there? Thanks! -Kevin

Issues with Sears repair on a Samsung LCD TV? I have been without our 8 month old Samsung 52" LCD TV for 2 months! Everytime Sears came out to repair the tv, they could not and need to order more parts. (only twice) And of course every time we would set a date for it to be fixed, we would get a call that the parts are back ordered!!! Finally my husband called Samsung...funny they have the parts!!! hummm? So, we ordered the part and it came within less then a week. They have not cam out to fix it yet, but Samsung said if this does not work we will get a new tv. I believe that Sears owes me some sort of reinbursment! Has anyone had any problems with Sears?? What did you do about it??? Thanks!!

Why is it that my picture/gaming quality is decreased with a 52" Samsung TV? I play xbox and a couple of weeks ago I hooked it up to my TV in my basement. It's a 52" LCD Samsung TV. It's a beautiful TV but whenever I play xbox it degrades the picture quality and whenever I play Call of Duty: Black Ops my aim is off and I find a more difficult to play. I switched the display setting on my xbox to 1080p but it's still the same. I was wondering if I had to change something on the TV or use an HDMI cable. Anyone who is smart in this area please help! @Tyler, thank you so much it actually worked. But I have another question now. Now that I changed it so that it wont use 120hrtz (or whatever), do I have to switch it back when I watch regular television or no?
Why does my Samsung LCD tv have a green screen and how can I fix it? 52" Samsung LCD TV is past warranty (purchased in 2005) and in last few weeks has had a green screen. Have read other questions and answers. Someone said to check menu. My menu comes up looking perfect and so does the picture-in-picture feature. Have tried unplugging and sometimes screen comes back to normal sometimes not. No magnets near tv. TV is hooked up to Scientific Atlanta cable box from local cable company. I have a Belkin Pure AV surge protector box. Hate to replace it if there is an inexpensive fix.

Samsung LCD TV? Samsung LN52A550 - 52" Widescreen 1080p LCD HDTV Thinking about buying this TV http://www.buy.com/retail/product.asp?sku=207652055&listingid=21205723&dcaid=17902 Is this a good TV and is it worth this price. Also, any experiences on this buy.com site?
Samsung LCD TV, problem turning on? I have a 52 inch Samsung LCD Television that is only about a year old. When you turn it on, it clicks on, then off, then on, then off, like 6 times before it finally decides it has enough power to stay on. Once it finally turns on, there are like purple little crystalized looking specs all over the screen. At that point, I'll turn it off, and turn it right back on, then they go away and everything is completely fine. The tv at that point will be fine for as long as it stays on. Picture and quality is awesome. Any ideas on what it is or easy remedies to fix it? Thanks in advance for any help! P.S. Surge Protector is top of the line and in good shape. I tried plugging directly into the wall, with the same results.
What is the difference between the following 2 LCD tvs: Samsung 52" T5265F & Samsung 52" T5281F? The 5265 is $3,500 & the 5281 is $5,000. They had them both at BestBuy. The 5281 was only hooked up to an HD demo, which looked so clear, that it looked 3D. The 5265 looked considerably less clear(still really nice) but was hooked up to cable. I wanted to see both tvs with the same feed, but the 5281 would only show the demo. I don't mind paying the extra $1,500 if the quality is a big difference. Is the extra money worth it? Does anyone own either one of these tvs?
Why am I getting "no signal" on Samsung LCD TV from Dish Network box? My grandfather recently got the Samsung LN52A650, which is a 52 inch LCD television. He currently only has 2 components hooked up. One is "WebTV", which is connected to the side, standard (yellow, white, and red) A/V input. This "source" is known as AV2 (in the television). The other component is a Dish Network box, which is connected using component cables, to what is known to the TV as "Component 1". All of this was installed just a couple of weeks ago, and worked fine, although he hadn't yet used the WebTV. Yesterday he asked me to turn on the WebTV, and not knowing (at the time) how it was connected, I just started changing the TV channel (which had just remained on Component 1 so he could watch Dish Network TV), and ever since, I can't get Component 1 to work again. I managed to get WebTV/AV2 working fine, but when I go back to component 1, the TV says "searching for signal" for a few seconds, then it says "no signal". After a lot of screwing around, I've determined that the TV essentially knows that something is plugged in to Component 1, it just thinks that the device (the Dish Network box) is not powered on. Because I can get the same error on AV2 if I go to it without turning WebTV on. Once I turn it on, the error goes away, and everything is good. Additional information: There is also another component input ("Component 2"). I plugged in to that to see what would happen, and still "searching for signal" for a few seconds, then "no signal". Sorry for the lengthy details, but I guess the bottom line is I am asking - How do I get the TV to recognize that the Dish box is in fact turned on, so I can get my grandfather watching TV again? Thanks in advance for any help! (BTW, a guy from Dish is coming on Sunday, but I'd like to help him fix it before then if possible)
lcd tv samsung verse sharp? I am looking at a couple of 52 inch lcd tv and was wondering what you all thought about the brands of samsung verse sharp lcd's. The models i am looking at are Samsung LN-52A550 and the Sharp AQUOS LC52D64U. They are both 1080p. The samsung has a contrast ratio of 30,000 verse the sharp that only has 10,000 but the sharp has a faster response time and its a tad bit cheaper than the samsung. I realize that both of these tv are not the latest models but they fall with in my budget for a new TV. I am wondering if anyone has had experiences with either of these TVs and which one they might suggest. Things that are important to me are Screen quaility, Video games and movies quaility, Sports and Bright colors and dark Blacks. Thanks in advance

My Samsung 52" LCD won't turn on.? I have a LN52B550K1F Samsung 52" LCD screen. The TV version is SS02, the TV was purchased in 2009. The problem is that the TV wont turn on when I press the button, the TV turns on randomly after it has been unplugged and plugged back in. Last night the TV just turned off by itself and went into standby while I was playing xbox. Samsung company said that it may be a blown capacitor, but every capacitor problem I have run upon has been accompanied by clicking. My Tv wont turn on period, the red light is on and the power button does nothing. It is a touch panel thing for the off/on switch. I am wondering what the cause of this problem is and if I can fix it by replacing the capacitor. Thanks.

52" LCD TV FULL HD, has Audio but no picture, any help? I have a seven month old 52" LCD TV FULL HD(Samsung). Up until last night, the TV has worked well. I turned the TV off using the remote however, when I turned it on this morning, there was audio, all functions, but no picture but when you look very closely at the screen you should be able to see the image changing, but as there is no back light there is no luminescence so it will appear black. After two days it starts to work perfect again. Three days after I am with the same problem. this is the third time with this problem. first time was two month ago and the tv starts to work perfect after 5 min. Now If I wait for 5 to 6 hours and switch on the TV again the TV works normally. So it seems that the TV needs 5 to 6 hrs of 'rest' before it can work normally again after a viewing. The problem usually happens when I switch off the TV for the day and switch it on again the next day. Please I need to know, what the problem is? What is the cost to fix it?

Goign to buy an LCD tv today and have been looking at two models? Should I go with a Samsung or Sharp? I have been looking for weeks, basically it comes down to price. LED LCD is out of my price range, plus I need to pull the trigger soon. They are both 52 inch TVs,The Samsung is 52, 60 Mhz. The Sharp comes with a free Blue Ray and is 120 MHZ. Some say that Samsung is a better product. I will be watching blueray and cablevision HDMI and gaming with an Xbox....what TV will serve me best for my price in the price range of 1,000 to 1500. Maybe I should look into an Insignia or a Westinghouse or Acer or Vizio? Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance, Rsty Neil, The Onkyo was purchased specifically for it's ability to upscale to 1080p and accept HDMI.
Is it necessary to calibrate an LCD flat screen TV? I just bought a new Samsung 650 52" LCD flat screen tv at Best Buy and the salesman at the store said after about a month it would need to be calibrated. I had bought a Sony 40" LCD flat screen a couple of years ago and it had never come up. Is this something new? They want to charge me about $300.00 and I don't know if that is a good price or not. Also how do I know if the technician is qualified to do this type of work. Thanks for your help!
What kind of television speakers should I look for? I have a new Samsung 52'' LCD tv and the speakers seem like they are projecting out the back. What should I look for if I want to hook up a small sound system maybe 2-3 speakers next to the TV? LCD Flat screen TV, General Question.? I recently purchased a new 52" LCD HD Samsung TV. Its currently connected to a regular antenna, and it only shows the local and within range channels. Most of them have a very fuzzy, and shaky image, possibly due to bad signal or w.e, which is understandable coming from a simple antenna. My concern is will that have a negative effect on the television? will it disturb the screen's componets in anyway? Thx just to clear up, im referring to the physical components of the screen, hardware. (not the components such as brightness, etc.) Im in the process of choosing a cable provider, or satelite for HD channels, thus the reason why i have antenna,
What are settings that I can adjust to get the best picture on my Samsung 52" LN-T5261F 1080P LCD HDTV? When I walk into Costco I see that a 37" VIZIO 1080P looks sharper and clearer than my 52" Samsung with a BLU Ray?? Which LCD TV is the best one.. Sony, Samsung, Sharp? I am looking to buy an LCD TV.. I am down to 3 choices that are very similar in price.. The three are Sony Bravia 52" KDL52V4100 or Samsung 52" LN52A550 or Sharp Aquos 52" LC52D65U... Which of these three is the better TV and why?
What is the best way to split a VGA signal from a computer to two LCD TV's? Right now I have my desktop hooked up in my living room to my 52' Sony Bravia LCD TV via a the standard built in VGA from the computer to the TV. However, now I want to be able to split that signal and run not only the LCD in the living room, but another 46' Samsung LCD TV in a room that is 50 feet away. I am just wondering what is the best way to do this? I know that the longer the run is, there is more quality loss. So.. I have a few options that I will list or if anyone knows anything better. You will be a great help!! I have been trying to do my research for the best possible outcome. 1. I can buy just a standard VGA (1 male to 2 feamle) splitter to split the TV that is 5 feet away and then buy a 50 foot cable to connect to the other TV. (However, I heard that I will get a lot of picture loss doing this because of my long run and inadequate power from the standard VGA on the desktop.) 2. I can buy a Powered VGA splitter. This splitter will be a box that powers up 12v when it is plugged into a wall socket for power. This will allow the PC to go to the Powered VGA Splitter VIA a short VGA cable, then one output to the LCD TV that is 5 feet away and another output to the LCD TV that is 50 feet away. (I looked into this because I believe that this Powered VGA splitter will give me my necessary upscaling power to power my long 50 foot run with good picture quality, however I am trying to minimize cost and bulkyness.) 3. I can buy a new graphics card for my desktop instead of using the standard built in one. This graphics card will have two VGA outputs so I can just run one VGA cable to the LCD TV that is 5 feet away, and the other output on the video card will go to the LCD TV that is 50 feet away. (I looked into this because I was told that it would give me better quality if I had a graphics card that just had two VGA outputs, however, I am afraid that once again I am having a problem there with not enough power to adequately power my long 50 foot VGA run to the other LCD TV) If anyone had any suggestions on the best possible way, please could you help me out? Thanks guys. -Ryan-
Can't make up my mind on 50" Plasma or 52" LCD TV? So here's what's going on. Every time I got into an electronics store to look at TVs, they have a few playing a Blu-Ray or HD DVD and they look great, and many others with a crappy store demo feed. I can't get a real feel for which would be the best TV. First I like the Sony 52" XBR4, but it's just too pricey, even at Amazon.com. Then I really liked the Samsung LNT-5271f with it's almost life like appearance showing Blu-Rays, but they seem to have issues all of their own with the 120 Hz. So then I looked at the Sony 52" W series, and it looked very beautiful, but it was only showing a blu-ray of landscapes and such. Great colors and very crisp, but no action to judge. Pricing is OK on this one. Then I'm thinking maybe I should look at plasma. Consumer Reports said the Panasonic TH-50PZ700U had they best picture they've ever seen, but I can't find one demoed with a good source feed. Also, most plasmas seem kind of dim to me. I like a bright TV that pops! Help!
I have Samsung LNT5265F 52" 1080p LCD HDTV and can't watch HD channels what do I do? Do I have to buy some kind of reciever or does this TV has HD receiver built in it? I tried everything but still can't watch the channels in HD. Can a high-end LCD TV like 52" 120 hz cause lagging while playing video games like Halo 3? 1. Why does Halo 3 online playing lags while playing on that TV? 2. 3 players playing together on this TV lags badly. Is the TV having to process too much? (on a different TV, 42" HD TV, does not lag as badly) It plays better when there are only 2 players playing together on this TV. 3. The video is being put through an Onkyo receiver. Is it possible that the video lag is caused by the receiver? Things to consider: TV is Samsung and we tried using the hard internet connection instead of using the wireless.
Why does our new Samsung 5 Series 580 52" LCD HDTV not find a 1080p signal? Our new tv receives a 1080i signal at 60Hz, but it should be receiving a 1080p signal at 120Hz... Is this problem a nature of the signal? Or is it a setting on the TV? The exact model number is a Samsung LN52A580.
I'm going to be buying a Samsung 26" LCD TV. Trying to compare Circuit City to Best Buy & can't figure out the model code "code". Circiut City has: LN-T2653H LN-T2642H Best Buy has: LN-S2641D LN-S2652D LN-S2651D From what I can tell...the "52" & the "51" are the same except one is white and one is black. I'm trying to figure out the differences...are all the "40 series" sets the same tv but with different model numbers because they are sold by a different retailer? Last question...how can I tell by the model number whether I buying the new model or last years model? Thanks to all
Trouble with TV remote? I recently bought a 52 inch samsung LCD tv. It came with two remotes and they worked fine in the beginning. They now will only work if you two feet in front of the tv. Any further back they do not work. Any advice? I replaced batteries and hit the rest button on the controller. Still no difference.
Hi Def video from computer to tv doesn't appear to be in Hi Def? I have a new HP laptop with HDMI output. I have a new Samsung 52" LCD Hi Def flat tv. I hooked the 2 up via HDMI cable. I downloaded an episode of the show "LOST" that is in Hi Def. When I play it through to my tv with windows media player, it doesn't appear to be of Hi Def quality. Is there something that I am not doing right?
