What is the top-rated 27" LCD Television? Where should I buy it?

Pioneer Elite Kuro Plasma or Sony XBR 7 240hz LCD? Now I know these are two complete different television sets but these are my top choices for a new set this year. I know all the specs already for each tv, have expert reviews and customer reviews as well for both TV's, and have seen them in person already I love the deep black levels of the elite but also love the smooth motion and feel to the 240hz refresh rates. IDK which one to purchase if they were to combine the deep black levels of a plasma with the great motion flow technology that would be an easier choice to make...... The room it will be placed in will have medium ambient light but I can easily close the shaded to make it relatively dark, will be watching sports, Blu-ray movies, and TV mostly on this set so I'm not too worried about a burn in plasmas. Please let me know which one you prefer, and why. (however please do not just say "oh because I like Sony better or pioneer better or say plasmas are better or lcd is is better LCD's and plasmas have their plusses and minuses I know, so.... give me legitimate and honest reasons and links to websites would be a plus) Thanks.

How come my HDTV keeps flashing when I use it as a second monitor? I've looked through pages and pages of search engines and I can't find the answer to my problem. The problem is that whenever I have my TV connected to my graphics card and try to use it as a second monitor, the display is perfect, except the fact that it keeps going to a black screen with the "Input 4 HDMI (Video : 1080i) box in the top right corner, and then it goes back to my desktop a second later. This happens every couple seconds and it's simply unusable. Note: The problem I'm having has nothing to do with any sort of "flicker" effect and the color is perfect. The HDTV is connected using an HDMI cable to an HDMI female to DVI male adapter on my graphics card. My graphics card is an NVIDIA GTX 560 Ti and my HDTV is Sharp 32" LC32SB21U 720p LCD Television. Also, I've tried changing the refresh rate, the resolution, and pretty much all other options available on the NVIDIA control panel. I've concluded that the optimal display settings for the monitor would be 1368x768 with a 60Hz refresh rate just like the specs say, but I really need to fix this problem. EDIT: I've tried both HDMI ports on my TV, same thing. I have a friend who has a micro-HDMI to HDMI cable which I might try first since my GPU has a micro-HDMI port. If not I'll just go over to Best Buy and get a price match to one on Amazon to avoid their terrible markups on wires.

Is a $250 4 yr service plan worth it on the Samsung 46" Touch of Color 650 TV? I recently purchased the above mentioned television. I paid about $1600 after tax (employee discount at retail store) but it normally retails for $2200. I have this month to decide whether or not I want to spend the extra 250 to get the 4 year service plan. I had a 40" Samsung LCD TV before this one for over a year and never experienced a problem. I know the plan would provide piece of mind, but to your knowledge, are there any known issues with the TV I purchased or would I be better off saving the $250? I've heard that the failure rate of new LCD tvs is below 10% (I have no clue if that's true) and that Samsung is one of the top brands. Thanks!

best 24 inch television for gaming? Hello, I’m in the market for a television for my Xbox 360. I would like a high definition set top box built into it so I already have access to the high definition channels. I also intend to use it as a Pc monitor to edit movies as I’m a film student. Naturally I’m after 1920x1080. I’m hoping for an LCD but I’m happy for it to be LED. I don’t think they make plasmas under 32inchs. I’m also hoping the panel refresh rate will be 100 Hz. I also want the television to have decent sound I’m finding however its proving difficult to find a television with the specs I am after or at least most of them. And any television I’m remotely interested in, I’m finding no reviews for. What I am asking is your opinion on what television I should buy with at least some of these specifications I have listed. It has to be twenty four inch as my room is quite small and that’s the largest I could properly get to fit in my room. Thankyou in advance. Im also from australia if that helps
