Why is there an intense buzzing noise coming from my new Blu-Ray player? I have a brand new Sony BDP S360 Blu-Ray Player connected via A/V cables to a brand-new Sharp LC-19SB27UT LCD HD television. Everything works great -- the audio and video are flawless, but there is an annoying and incessant buzzing sound coming from the Blu-Ray Player. It flares up occasionally when watching a film and is always sounding off on the player's home screen. Please help me get rid of the noise!

Should I buy a new LCD television? Presently I have two televisions: a 20 inch Sharp LCD (that is not HD) and a 36 inch Sony flat panel, but it is not an LCD. The Sony has the large back, but the screen is definitely flat. Here is my dilemma: there is absolutely nothing wrong with my Sony 36 inch TV. It is HUGE and takes up a lot of room, but I rarely ever watch it. I'd love to get a nice, sleek, new LCD, about a 40 inch, 1080/240hz, but I am undecided. I'd like to know what the community thinks. Thanks, guys.
LCD Monitors. How many different manufactors are there? Many are just relabeled. LG makes good LCD screens from what I hear. Samsung, Sharp, etc. But do they make there own or what. I’ve been too busy to do the research. Also, what is the best way to compare LCD HD televisions? From what I've been able to find out, everyone measures their own displays so comparing the listed contract and brightness may not be accurate. :) I already know the basics; digital comb filter, 1080i, multiple inputs for upgrading.
What's the difference between an LCD TV and a Liquid Crystal Television? I am comparing two products to buy with my Amex points: Sharp 32" HDTV AQUOS™ Liquid Crystal Television and the Sharp 32" AQUOS™ HD Flat Panel LCD TV Clearly they are different because they required a significantly different # of points. What's the difference? Which is better? What are the tradeoffs?

Here is what my choices are for LCD TVs, Sony 46" Class Bravia Full HD KDL-46S4100, Sharp 46" LC46SB54U, and Samsung 46'' LN46A500T. Way to reduce LCD HDTV Ghosting? I recently bought a 32 inch LCD HDTV from Sharp (the 32GPIU, which is mainly for HD videogaming). The picture quality is great, but I have noticed a certain amount of ghosting while watching TV and playing fast-paced videogames on my 360 and PS3). I was wondering if there is a way to reduce the amount of ghosting. Are their certain settings I can change to reduce the ghosting? I've heard that the backlight in certain LCD televisions increase ghosting and trailing occurances.
Who makes Vizio? Sony? LG? Sharp? Panasonic? This is not a question. I am actually answering my own question here because I attended a long electronics seminar where I was able to talk to a couple of Vizio reps, along with Panasonic, Sony, Sharp and several others. The question for ages has been: "Does Sony Make Vizio?" Answer: No! Who really makes Vizio? It is AmTran Technology of Taiwan. "Who makes their screens? Perhaps Sony or Sharp?" Answer: Vizio LCD screens are made by LG. Plasma screens are Panasonic seconds, which are most likely older technology and/or Panasonic rejects. The Panasonic rep said they are their screens, but they are totally different grade than the ones in Panasonic TV's. Unfortunately, LG was not there to confirm whether their screens are really being used in Vizio displays, but many experts I spoke to confirmed this is true. It even hints towards this if you search Vizio's website. Question: "Are Vizio TV's made in the USA?" Answer: NO! Not one screw is turned in the states during assembly. They are made in China/Taiwan. According to the Vizio rep I spoke to, they are made to Vizio's spec overseas. Vizio has absolutely no hand in the manufacturing of Vizio TV's. Vizio gives the requirements to AmTran and they make them for from whatever parts fit the bill. The Vizio reps justification for this was that many other companies don't make their own products, so why should Vizio? "AmTran is the best maker of HD televisions, which is why they were chosen by Vizio". The CEO of Vizio, William Wang, is the former owner of Princeton monitor company. Princeton went out of business a few years ago. This left Wang free to be the mastermind of Vizio televisions. Your "American Made" Vizio only employees about 100 employees in the states and has no say over the people or talent responsible for the Vizio phenomenon. Accoding to William Wang, Vizio aspires to be the next Sony by selling their discount televisions at Costco and Wal-Mart. Vizio's real website. http://www.amtran.com.tw/
Why do Most of these New HD Tvs, Especially LED LCD, TVs convert the Movies into LIVE Television Version? Here is what I Mean..... Have you ever watched "Behind the Scenes", or Any Soap Operas? You know how it looks like someone is Shooting them LIVE and they don't really have a "MOVIE Feel" To them. Same exact thing is happening with my NEw Sharp LC-60LE832U LED LCD Tv as almost every movie, blu Ray, or Netflix, Or Dish Network MOVIE I watch, the Motion of the Movie is SO LIVE, that it is ruining it for me. Can someone HELP? Is there a setting that I can Change? I've tried turning off all the Refresh Rate, Motion Controller Setting and it is not helping....
Sharp 42" 1080p LCD HDTV: cable box needed? I know that I need an HD cable box to be able to view HD channels through Comcast. However, is there a spot on this TV (see model # below) for me to be able to plug in the regular coaxial cable cord? I do not have a cable box in my bedroom (nor do I wish to get one for the 2 months I have left living with my parents before my house is ready). Will I be able to watch regular television stations if I do not have a cable box? The model number is LC42SB45U. I just ordered this TV, and it is coming from Dell on Wednesday. My fiance thinks that we won't be able to use it at all until we get a cable box. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

My LCD TV looks Dull? I have a 32' Samsung LCD TV. When I first got it the picture was very bright and sharp and HD looked nice. However, after a few months the screen had got a lot of dust on it so I decided to clean it. I tried to do it the right way I bought phillips LCD cleaner and follwed the directions turning the tv off. After I finished though there were a few streaks and scratches and the screen looked dull and now it looks almost like a standard television even on some HD channels. I paid a lot of money for this would the warranty cover this type of damage or is there anything I can do to fix this? Please Help

Need help picking a 46 inch 1080p LCD TV? I am shopping for a 46 inch 1080p LCD TV but there are so many similar ones by different companies (e.g. Toshiba, Samsung, Sharp, LG). What brand TV should I get? Also, the 120Hz TVs are all about $300-$400 more than the 60Hz ones. Is it worth spending the extra $300-$400 for this? At this point I am debating getting the "Toshiba Regza 46 inch 1080p 120Hz Flat-Panel LCD HDTV (46LX177)" because an employee at the Best Buy store says that it is the best quality for the price compared to similar TVs by other companies. I am wondering whether I should get this or a Samsung, Sharp etc. with the same specs. I am also wondering whether I should save $300-$400 and get a similar TV with 60Hz instead of 120Hz. Note that I plan to watch Blu-Ray and regular movies, watch regular and HD television and play PS3 games. Thanks for any advice.
Best LCD TV to buy for 500-900 Canadian Dollars? Im looking to replace my ancient 27'' Sony Trinitron with an LCD TV. My television will be at least 32'' and HD ready. I was thinking of getting the 32'' Sharp Aquous model. I also heard Panasonic and Samsung are good choices too. In terms of clarity and brightness, what televisions/brands/models should i look into getting in that price range? I will also use it for watching dvds/blue rays and ps2 and ps3. Any advice? Will pick for best and most detailed answer!
LCD vs Plasma? 1080p vs. 720p? Size? Brand? I need help... I'm shopping for a TV, doing my part to stimulate the economy w/ my tax return. Questions... LCD vs Plasma? My room is dark and relatively small but I play video games occasionally and also watch ESPN a lot so burn in is a concern. 1080p vs 720p? I don't own a Blu Ray yet, but I'm sure I will eventually. However, I mainly watch SD or HD broadcast television, so not sure if 1080p is truly worth the money. How does Blu Ray look on a 1080i tv? Size? I have a 32" LCD mounted on the wall now. Seating distance is about 7ft from the TV. My brother recommended a 42"; somehow that seems small to me. I want a 46"+ but afraid it's going to be too big... Brand? I've heard to steer clear of Insignia, Philips (mainly due to their limited hook-ups, not quality) and other lesser brands for LCD's. Are Sonys really the best? What about Sharp and LG? Another thing.. I saw a Panasonic 42" 720p 600hz plasma at Best Buy... contrast ratio is like 2,000,000:1. If the contrast ratio and refresh rate are superior in this TV, why wouldn't they do it w/ 1080p resolution? How much more important is contrast ratio and refresh rate vs resolution?
Which TV should I buy? I've been searching for a new television for some time now, and i've narrowed it down to these two. They both cost the exact same amount, and they're from the same store. Why won't my PS3 display games in 1080p? I have a ps3 slim and a 42inch LCD 1080p 120 hz sharp television. I'm connected via hdmi cable. After fine tuning some settings on ps3 I was able to get the picture to portray from 420 standard to 720 hd but my games (skyrim, battlefield 3) still wont portray in 1080p. I've tried multiple hdmi cables (ranging from 3 dollars to 60 dollars) and different hdmi slots, nothing works. If I hook up my buddies xbox 360 with the same hdmi cable in the same slot, the picture goes to 1080p. Any suggestions? please and thank you
Did I setup my surround sound the best possible way? I just hooked up a Panasonic SC-BT200 home theater to my Sharp LCD TV. The unit is a 7.1 surround sound with a blu-ray/receiver combo. I called Panasonic during the setup and was advised to do the following: connect Comcast box to TV via HDMI, connect blu-ray/receiver to TV via HDMI, connect blu-ray/receiver to Comcast box via optical digital audio cord. With the recommended setup I was unable to hear anything from any speaker while watching both HD and standard television. I adjusted the Comcast box audio to Advanced but that didn't help. So I ended up rerouting the optical digitial audio cord from the blu-ray/receiver directly to the TV's audio out. I can now hear TV audio from the speakers but I'm not sure if I lost quality. My questions are: 1. Why didn't the recommended setup work? (Comcast box to blu-ray receiver via optical cord) 2. Is sound quality sacrificed if I keep the current setup? (TV to blu-ray receiver via optical cord) Thanks in advance for any help.

Need some electronic advice!!? Okay, I am def not, by no means, understanding the difference between today's televisions. Finally, my husband and I broke down when we saw a bundle at Walmart. Samsung LCD/LED bundle - http://www.walmart.com/ip/Samsung-40-Class-1080p-60Hz-LED-LCD-HDTV-UN40C5000-Bundle/15729136 We didn't notice a very big wow factor, so we purchased the Sharp Aquos Quattron through QVC.. and yes there were minor improvements. BUT playing movies looks fake, soap opera-ish! Which I can NOT stand and I really don't think I can get used to it! Sharp LCD/LED - http://www.qvc.com/qic/qvcapp.aspx/view.2/app.detail/params.tpl.csweb.cm_scid.cswb.item.E166285 We have also purchased a PS3, because we were set on taking back the Samsung bundle to Walmart, and one thing we do know, we def want a blur ray player. There really isn't a "big" difference in either TV, Except $200.00 in cost. I don't know if maybe my picture settings are wrong on the Sharp Quattron, or if it's even worth the extra $200. Question #1 - PS3 blu ray player ... Good, Bad, Okay, No difference in any other blu ray player?? Please rate it! Question #2 - The Samsung bundle or more expensive Sharp? AND Why? I know the Samsung is 1080p and 60Hz and the Sharp is 1080p 120Hz Question #3 - Will the PS3 play the same on either TV? I just want a outsiders opinion on which TV is the best. We aren't big gamers, we do like our occasional movie, and we don't have HD TV through our cable provider, and we don't want it. The prices on each page are the prices we have paid. (except sales tax, and the qvc order also had shipping charges) I am at a loss for which one to keep and which one to take back. Looking for some help as to which of the TV's is the best deal! OR even any other recommendations in the same price range no smaller than a 40".

Sony Bravia.? The sony Bravia is a stunning LCD TV.Without a doubt it is the best company selling HD Televisions. The KDL-40W2000 and the KDL-40X2000 have attracted my attention. The X series is suposed to be better than the W series, but it is £300 more expensive. The reason why i didn't win the WHAT HI FI award 2006.I would love this TV over my CRT 32in Sony WEGA. However i've heard that BBC HD is available without a subscription.I tried this on the sky box and when i clicked on BBC HD i got the phone number you need to call to get it.Do you need to get an HD TV and then it will become available?Or do you need another digibox with an HD TV to make it work?Or am i mistaken? I also don't plan on buying SKY HD as there is too few channels and is rather expensive.Do you get better pictures with a BRAVIA without an HD source, it says you do in the catalogue fron the sony centre.HD means the picture is sharper i think. The Bravia engine is meant to improve the picture without an HD source.
Which TV would you choose for the computer? I am wanting a 32" LCD TV for my desktop computer. This is a big upgrade for me, as my current monitor is only 19" standard. The two televisions support two televisions. One is HD, and the other Full HD. It is family policy to buy SHARP only, and the SHARP is only HD, whilst the TOSHIBA has Full HD. Which would you choose and why? The SHARP: http://www.ebuyer.com/product/199817 The TOSHIBA: http://www.ebuyer.com/product/240813
Anybody familiar with LCD ln37b550 and xbox360? Hello, I recently went into a local best buy to purchase a new 1080p LCD that would be suitable to use for gaming as well as playing DVD's or watching television. So i went in describing to the employee what I would be using it for. He helped me decide on a LN37B55O 1080P TV 60HZ About 70,000 Dynamic Contrast ratio,Very nice TV which I was hoping I could use for gaming as well as TV like i mentioned earlier. Keep in mind this is my first 1080p TV, I previously had a 40" 720p TV Samsung LNT4042H which I Upscaled to 1080 through my xbox with my HDMI cables and the picture looked great, Ive just heard so many great things about 1080p with gaming that I wanted to try it out for myself. So i bring the tv home and connect it just like I had it before with my older TV I hooked it up via HDMI through two different cables to test it out just in case. Keep in mind the only change in my room was from my older tv to this new model which I figured would produce a better picture since it has more contrast ratio and resolution. But for some reason games look real crappy on this TV. I am very dissapointed thinking I would be getting a great picture through my xbox that is set to output 1080p games look terrible It seems like there not sharp at all and the image looks distorted very dark and ugly. I dont know what is wrong with my setup I feel like my last TV looked better than this one. Which i know is impossible. So here I am now confused trying to figure out why im not blown away by an HD picture QUALITY. I also tried returning the piece back to bestbuy and explained to the rep that was helping me the issue I am describing to you no2, they even hook it up there right in front of me through HDMI playing a BluerayDisc Movie and it looked incredible. But I explained to him that gaming looks bad and that is what I was mainly going to be using it for. So he went ahead and exchanged the TV for me for the same model but im still having the same problem I am very upset that I have gone through this whole hassle but am unhappy with my display this TV is only a few weeks old. So now im unsure what is going on, I would very much appreciate if someone can get back to me on this issue I am having. Thank-you.
Problems with receiving Digital Television!? Hi Guys, I have a Sharp LC46XD1E 46 inch Full HD LCD TV that doesn't seem to pick up any freeview channels on DTV! Does anyone else have the issue with this TV as the Government helpline for DTV blamed Sharp and Sharp are blaming them for changing the frequencies last minute and that's why it won't pick up any channels (even though not all channels were changed in the latest frequency revision)!! I have tried a re-tune but it doesn't seem to work at all and the system freezes! Hope someone knows a solution (other than buy a new TV or Freeview box) as I'm stuck with only being able to watch one TV channel on sky at one time! Cheers
How do I get a better quality TV picture? Hi, I just bought a Sony Bravia KDL-40V4000 LCD television 1080p etc etc. The picture looks amazing when I use my Xbox 360 and DVD with the HD lead, but I thought the normal television picture would be better. I know it's not the TV's fault as I said before it looks great with the Xbox 360 etc. I have it plugged into a normal aerial lead from the wall and it plays via the freeview inside it. Please can anyone tell me how I can get a sharper picture similar to the Xbox 360 or dvd? (the current TV picture is ok but lacks definition) do I need freesat/signal booster or Sky or what? Thanks
Will HDMI improve my new television's picture on the xbox 360? I recently purchased a 55" Full HD LCD TV and i have noticed that my xbox 360 is not showing its full potential. Such games as Red dead redemption shows a fuzz around characters when they move or appear unsharp. I have an older model of the xbox 360 thats about 2 years old and im wondering if it is worth buying an xbox 360 elite console just to get HDMI. I have put my settings on the xbox 360 to 1080p and using component cables but its not giving me the sharp crisp appearance. Or is it that i just bought a bad TV lol?

I need help deciding on which LCD HDTV to keep between Vizio and Samsng? i recently purchsed both a Vizo and Samsung LCD HDTV but i am unsure on which to keep. I will be using my tv for BLU RAY MOVIES, PLAYSATION 3, and XBOX 360. As i have been testing them both out i have noticed some things about each. The Vizio seems to be more deep in its colors as in it seems like it has a bigger color spectrum(compared to the Samsung). However the Samsung seems to be a lot bighter. For example when i am playing Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2 on the Vizio the colors ae very rich and the screen seems to be darker (if that makes sense) while on the Samsung the picture is extremely bright but the colors are not as rich as the Vizios.I also noticed that when i am "running" in the game in a dark area the picture gets fuzzy when playing on the Samsung but when playing on the Vizio it does not. I just want to know which one will be better for my needs for an HDTV overall; also if you could include reasons why you think one is better then the other; and please all unbiased opinions.NOTE: i have both tvs set up on "vivid" picture. Here are the specs of both tvs:(from target.com) Samsung 32" Description This is an ideal HDTV for smaller rooms offering crisp, bold HD images. HDTV OWNERS ALERT !!!!!!!!!! save your lcd tv.....? there has been a sharp increase in the consumer complaints regarding fusing of back-light panel of LCD TV's especially 1080p full HD..The reason behind this is the use of standard vision instead of high-definition for which the television is made for...Even the leading brands of world television like SAMSUNG and SONY claim that the consumers are operating their hdtv's on standard definition which causes a lot of damage to the pixels and the back-light of the tv...To avoid your costly LCD panel from this damage you should for at least a small time (1-2 hours a day) run the television on high definition...for HD one can make use of HD DTH sevices across the globe but these are usually costly so world's new invention like the blue-ray players can be used. All the leading brands have launched their full hd players which have no comparison against the old and outdated DVD players...A normal blue-ray player costs about $700 which means a lot of money but now you have another option, the all new sony PLAYSTATION 3 which comes with a blue-ray player and it is one of the best players available, not only this it also has the brand power of Sony and it is the best selling home appliance in the world and you would be surprised to know that it costs only $299 which makes a lot of difference..Sony moreover provides you a PSN id by which you could download hundreds of blue-ray movies, music and a lot of stuff thus giving you a better and cheap option to save your tv's life, performance and efficiency..So what are you waiting for.just to to your nearest store and buy ps3 or a blue-ray player or a HD DTH....as for our option,we suggest you for the ps3..Check the link below for full specs of ps3 http://playstation.about.com/od/ps3/a/PS3SpecsDetails_3.htm
