why are so many sony bravia x series LCD televisions faulty? I have had 2 46" sony bravia X series televisions so far, both have had a horrible white clouding over the screen that interferes particularly in dark scenes. I seems that thousands of people around the world are having the same trouble. Why is nothing being done whilst Sony continue to sell these televisions???
What is the average life span of a Sony Bravia LCD television? I have a Panasonic rear-projection 60" tv which is about to die because of the lamp. I've had it replaced twice already, but I don't want to keep on paying and paying for labor which is $350. I plan on buying a Sony Bravia LCD tv, but my question is; how long will they last and are they good?

I confuse to buying 40R71 Samsung, or 40S200 Sony LCD Television, Please guide me, i don't need gaming mode, or card readers, also price per performance and quality is important for me, Also please please consider analog signals, movie watchings, Long life, contrasts, and resulations, I found that Samsung is the product of thailand and sony is made in malaysia, Please recommend which one could be better for me. Also please note that i can use some futures such as card readers via my notebook or pc
Does anyone have problem with Sony LCD TV and Time Warner Cable? I recently bought a new Sony LCD Television (KDL46Z100) and I have Time Warner cable (which sucks!). I set up the code for the TV according to the remote manual. Everything worked fine until I turned the cable box off. When I turned it back on, the remote does not work (until 15-20 mins. later). It seems it takes the TV quite a while to pick up the signal from the remote. The sound went out occassionally for 5 sec. at various intervals. I called Sony and told them about the problem. They said its not the tv because my dvd player works fine and its the cable box/remote. I returned the box and remote to Time Warner this past weekend and got a different box and remote. I programmed the remote again and the same problem continues. The tv does not pick up the signal from the remote for like 15 or 20 mins. The sound problem went away but i'm still annoyed with the remote. any ideas what the problem could be? I even took the hdmi cable out and used the composite cables to see if it was a cable wire thing and still the tv delays on the signal. The only thing I can think of is the tv model is so new, the cable box is not familiar with such model? I don't know. Getting frustrated. I'm getting quite sick of the quality service of Time Warner (channel freezes, on demand does not work sometimes, etc.) I might switch to another provider like RCN. Anyways, getting off topic here. I would appreciate some insight on my question. Thanks. The original Sony remote works fine but i can't use it with my cable box, can I?
Questions about sony xbr2 LCD television? Does anyone have advice on the optimal settings and calibrations to get the best possible picture ? Also, should I buy HDMI cables to hook up my comcast cable box or are the component cables supplied just as good? Thanks.
Which Sony 32" HD LCD should I buy? What is the differecne between the Sony Bavia models: Sony BRAVIA™ KDL-V32XBR2 32 in. HDTV LCD Television Sony KDL-32S3000 32 in. LCD Television They seem almost exactly the same? Is there a big difference?
Sony LCD TV life span? I have a 50" Sony LCD TV and the screen has the notorious green hue that's been plaguing Sony televisions for years. I'd like to know if the green hue will continue to get worse? And how long before the TV completely craps out? That does not even address my question.
Sony television info? On the new range of sony lcd televisions a lot of the model numbers end in a U i.e. KDL46V3000U. But some don't and are the same tv. Is there a difference or does the U not mean anything. 10 points for helping me out!
I am buying an LCD TV. Should I go for Sony or Samsung? I am having a very hard time deciding between a Sony or Samsung flat panel LCD television , as I have heard good things about both of them. The models I am considering are both 40 inches, 1080p resolution, and 60hz Any opinions or personal experiences would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.
Do we buy a Plasma or an LCD television? We've decided to go for a 40 or 42 inch screen and both plasma and LCD models are available. We are going to install Sky HD as well as we watch a lot of sport. I've heard that LCD is here to stay and that plasma will eventually disappear, a bit like the old Betamax videos did. I've also been told that Sony Corp. ONLY do LCD televisions now. Any info or advice would be greatly appreciated.
Sony Bravia LCD 40" no picture but has sound? Just seven days ago I purchased a Sony Bravia 40" LCD television. It worked great when it was installed, although I noticed that sometimes when I changed the channel that the whole screen would go black for 3 to 5 seconds. Yesterday, just a week after delivery, I turned it on and there was sound but no picture at all. None. A completely dark screen. it doesn't even display 'Bravia' on the screen at startup. If I look at the screen in the dark, I can see a dark, dark, dark blue illumination but nothing else. I called the technical support help hotline but they weren't much help because they couldn't seem to understand that the screen is completely inoperable. So what's up with my week-old Sony Bravia 40" LCD television?
My Sony LCD TV just displays solid pink after a brief power interruption. Any ideas? I still get audio for every channel AND the TV displays menus and channel identifications, just not the actual video from the channels themselves. Furthermore, I’ve tested with another television and confirmed that this is not a cable line issue (everything works fine on the other TV). Anything you know will be very much appreciated! Oh, it’s a Sony MFM-HT205 if that helps.
Is there any risk of mercury exposure with LCD televisions or monitors? I have a 32" Sharp LCD HDTV and a 19" Sony LCD/TFT monitor but I recently found out that these displays contain fluorscent bulbs with small amounts of mercury. Is there any risk at all for any of the mercury to reach the users or viewers assuming that the user does not open up the screen? I presume that as these screens are sealed/enclosed in a very "air-tight" manner, sothat even if the bulbs were to break or become damaged, the Hg should not beable to escape the enclosed structure of the device. Is this a correct assumption? Looking at the manuals, there is no mention of any health concern due to theHg in the device - the only notice is to take proper precautions when disposing the device. But again, if the monitor's enclosure is not opened or tampered with by the user, is there any risk of any Hg dissipating out of it? I believe not but I would like a qualified opinion. Many thanks,
Sony Bravia KDL-52XBR2 LCD Television quit responding to side control and remote control for volume and mode? Just tonight, my Sony Bravia KDL-52XBR2 52 in. LCD Television quit responding to side controls and remote control for volume and mode. It will turn off via remote but nothing else will work via remote. Also, the side panel will turn on and off but no others controls are operable. Also, it used to power up within seconds and now the sound will come on after about 10 seconds but it takes 30 to 60 seconds for the image to appear. The image then looks fine and it seems to default to the satelite box and volume at medium level, the same as it was before this problem occurred. Im afraid to reboot and default to factory settings as then it will probably not reset to the satelite box and I shall have no tv at all but being unable to control the volume and switch to overair antenna is annoying. I have unplugged it, turned it off, etc, I can not access the menu function either via remote or via the side. Please, someone help me! I fear it may take a service call but I live a ways from the technician and the tv is mounted to the wall. The tv is about 3 years 3 months old as well. Could the problem be some type of module that powers or controls those items as they are all located in the same area? Thanks for your assistance in this matter. Debbie
which tv should i buy... the 42 inch plasma Panasonic,42 inch plasma Hitatchi or the 46 inch LCD Sony? All of our electronics are Sony. I wantd a Sony television but the only one I liked was the 46 LCD Sony. I don't like projection though they do have the best picture. Our Final three options are the panasonic, Hitatchi or the Sony. The Panasonic and the Hitatchi are both 42 inch and they are also plasma...excellent picture. The Sony is larger (46 inch) and it's an LCD and about a thousand dollars more. I'm willing to pay more cuz it's larger and it's sony. Other than that I don't know whether the panasonic or the hitatchi will do...I'd appreciate any opinions

New sony LCD tv automatically dims when a dark scene is shown? When a visually dark part of a movie is shown, the television dims, making it hard to see the scene. How can I fix this? The model number is KDL46v5100. Thanks! When I mean dims, I mean the backlight brightness decreases, as if less power were sent to the backlight.
Sony Televisions, which one to buy? I am looking at buying a Sony 40" LCD TV. Any suggestions on what to look for? I have not bought a new TV in years so I need help. Also, is Sony the best?
LCD Television - bright corner? Hi there I own a 40' Sony LCD television. When the screen is black, I can notice in the top right hand corner of the screen, there is a noticeably bright spot visible. I was wondering if this was a problem, or just part of the backlight.. there are other spots on the television with the backlight issue, however, the corner is slightly brighter. Thanks
Can't get closed captioning off my Sony Bravia? I have a 50" Sony Bravia LCD television and for some reason, I cannot get the closed captioning off. Here's the catch: it doesn't do it on HD channels. When I go under Settings, the closed captioning is turned off, so why is it still showing up on Analog channels? It is driving me nuts!

Which lcd TV manufacturer should I buy and where to buy? I'm trying to decide whether to buy a samsung or sony lcd television. I will probably wait at least a couple of weeks to buy, or at least until I receive my tax refund. Based on reviews for a 26 inch lcd tv (since the tv will go in my bedroom) I have narrowed it down to those 2 manufacturers. Does anyone have any suggestions, even if it is not samsung or sony? Also, where should I buy the TV, a chain place like best buy/circuit city, or a local electronics place? Finally, should I go ahead and buy one within the next couple of weeks, or wait whenever TVs will go down in price? Thanks for answering.

What is the best LCD TV out of these three? What is the best LCD TV out of these three? I'm also wondering what the best brand is for LCD TVs are? Here is what my choices are for LCD TVs, Sony 46" Class Bravia Full HD KDL-46S4100, Sharp 46" LC46SB54U, and Samsung 46'' LN46A500T. I'm looking for the best picture resolution, reliability, and which one is the best of the three. What should I be looking for out of any LCD television?
What is better for video LCD monitor or LCD televisions??? Is FULL HD only larger than 32 inch? Will lower resolution DVD's look horrible on your LCD HD Televison or LCD HD monitor? I guess Sony is this best brand with its Live Color Creation. Is 100 Hertz better than 50 hertz? I thought CRT televisions already got 100 hertz. The store displayed analog signals horrible on LCD Television Screens! Movies that are shot with a normal camera and not HD camera on blue ray disc! They must be joking!

What is the difference between these two Sony Bravia TV's? Sony 40 in. Class LCD Full HD (1080p) Television, BRAVIA® or Sony 40 in. Class LCD Integrated HDTV / Sony Bravia I don't play any video games and I don't watch much sports but I will have an HD cable box. Which is better for me? What is the difference anyway? KDL-40S4100 and KDL-40S3000
LCD Television picture quality, can anyone help? I have just bought a 40" Sony LCD TV (which was not cheap!) and the picture quality is not as good as you would expect. The edges of people seem quite fuzzy. It has built in Freeview so is digital, any ideas!?
